First Time

So, I have never been ice skating. Well, yesterday for my mom's birthday my dad had all us kids (and spouses and grandchildren) meet at Ice World to surprise her for a night of ice skating and family time!! It was so great to see everyone participate. Well, everyone that could, since Jonathan lives in UT so can't always make it to these things, and Tessa is due any day now so she wasn't able to skate either. Little Brooklyn who isn't even 2 yet had skates and had a blast getting to go around the rink! Either one of us would hold her hands or we got these helper bar things that she could hold on to to skate along. Abbigail and Olivia used these as wells when one of us wasn't holding their hands.

I had a great time, and did not find it as difficult as everyone says it is. It seemed like rollerblading to me, and I picked it up pretty quickly and was zooming around the rink. I never even fell down, which was great! I'm definitely anxious to be able to go again!!

Well it's almost the weekend and we have a busy one ahead of us! Fri night after work we are having the missionaries over for dinner. I'm really excited, as a young girl I always enjoyed when my parents had them over, so now I get to do it as an adult and prepare a meal and everything! Sometimes I just really enjoy playing hostess. :)

Saturday Josh has a bazaar type thing to go to and twist balloons. I have visiting teaching, and then that night is my work Christmas party. I'm sure it will all be very exciting, but I'm definitley looking forward to Sunday when we just have church to go to and we can enjoy most of the day just the two of us relaxing on the couch and getting to sleep in a little bit.

Not much else has happened since the last post, but I'll be sure to continue updating!!

Busy Lives

Josh and I have been busy busy with work and moving and trying to keep up with the holiday rush. We've pretty much gotten all our christmas shopping done, except for perhaps for one another. I had gotten Josh an Xbox 360 with kinect, but I gave that to him over Thanksgiving because I just couldn't wait any longer. Ha-ha.

We moved back in to the townhouse and so far it's been great. We set up our furniture differently so the front room has much more space, or it seems that way, anyway. We also had to get a new Washer & Dryer, and those are currently being delivered/set up right now. As well as our new fridge. The fridge we thought we had turned out not to work, and the drain pipe on our old washer broke, and the dryer was old, took forever to dry, and the heating element was going out, so neither of these were worth replacing to us, so we just got new ones. I'm excited to be able to do some laundry now! As well as we'll have food in the house again, we've been having to eat out or be creative with food. Who knew how important milk, eggs, cheese, or even having a place to store leftover was!!

We're also 2 weeks away from our Anniversary and have reservations for dinner as well as at a King Suite in a hotel so it should be a nice first Anniversary! :) Next year we're hoping to go back to Disneyland, or on a cruise, or Disneyworld, which will be lots of fun!

I don't think there is much more to update on at this moment. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the holiday season!!

Holiday time?

Thanksgiving is next week and it doesn't feel like the holiday season to me at all!! I'm still excited for the holidays though, and maybe on the actual Thanksgiving day it'll feel like it is time for all the winter holidays. It was snowing today, still is actually, but it is the really wet kind and it isn't sticking. Next week we're supposed to get lots of snow though, so that is super exciting!!

I had a Dr's appt yesterday and when I got weighed in I found I had lost 3 more lbs! So that is 7 total in about a week and half's time. I'm so glad I'm seeing results and that this diet is actually working!

Tonight I'll get my baby, my little black pomeranion puppy, Pixie, back. We had to send her to Josh's parents house while we were at our apartment because with both of us working we just didn't have a place to keep her all day while we were gone. We will be moving back to the townhouse next weekend and it has a small fenced in backyard that we'll be able to let her run around in while we are gone all day.

Another BSU game tonight, though I won't be watching it. I get to go to my sister-in-law's baby shower. This will be my 6th niece. No nephews as of yet, but that is okay. Little girls are just the cutest thing!!

I don't think there are any other updates on our lives at this time. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Great Week

The rest of last week went great. We watched the BSU game Fri night. And while I am a little disappointed that U of I got 1 and then 2! touchdowns, BSU still played a great game and I'm glad the 2nd and 3rd string were able to get some playing time. They need to practice so when they're the starters we still have a GREAT team!!

Our free day from our diet on Sat was perfect. I got to have so much yummy food, but was still able to control my portions. We had fun hanging out with friends and I played The Farming Game for the first time where I actually understood what was going on. I might actually be looking forward to playing it again. Haha.

I ended up working Sunday, but Josh started attending and participation in the Ward Choir. He wants me to join next week, and I'll go with him, but me and singing don't usually go together real well. Work was pretty slow and we got out right on time, which was great.

I also weighed in for the week and was so happy to see I went down 4 pounds!! I was not expecting that much at all! I know the pace at which I lose the weight will decrease, but that was still a great accomplishment and helps me want to continue the diet. Seeing the progress is really helpful in motivation.

Now it is Monday again and we have another busy week ahead of us! We need to start getting the house ready for our move next weekend. Hopefully we can continue to clean out a lot of the junk and clutter that has built up and keep it to a minimum. (That's optimistic!! lol)

Day 3

Well, not a lot has happened the last couple of days. Even though it is only day 3 of the diet, I have still stuck to it, which I am quite impressed with myself about!!

So the rest of Monday was pretty chill. The boys kept me on my toes as I chased them around and tried to keep the house picked up and kept the boys from beating up on each other too much. Sometimes they do great at sharing, other days not so much. lol. They are still great fun though and I will miss them when I stop watching them all the time.

When I got home I made tomato soup and cheese breads which was super yummy! We had a good relaxing nigh at home.

I had a short shift at work on Tuesday and got some laundry done before running errands with my mom and sister. Josh and I met Chris and Jill at the new Edwards Theatre and saw Grown Ups. Considering it was an Adam Sandler movie it was surprisingly good.

We have a surprise birthday/cocktail party tonight that I'm excited for. Any opportunity to dress up and hang out with friends is a good night for me!!

Jumping on the Bandwagon

I have finally decided to blog. I used to want to do this, and then everyone started blogging, and I decided I did not want to blog just because everyone else does! However, it seems like a good idea, and I do love to tell stories and share Josh and mine lives, so this seems an easy way to do so.

To start off, just let me update everyone on our lives, as they stand currently. If you have been in touch with us, you know this changes almost daily. However, we seem to finally have a daily, if not weekly, routine with a short term plan for ourselves! This is very exciting.

Josh started his job at Enterprise about 2 weeks ago, he is on week 3 now. So far he loves it! Unlike me, Josh loves sales and customer service and enjoys making people happy daily. He is a management trainee, and is learning all about Enterprise and their company. So far he is very impressed. He helps people rent cars, picks them up, and will be doing marketing to make sure that dealers and insurance companies continue to send business their way. He works long days, but so far no complaints. (For those that don't know, he graduated from Boise State University May 2010 with his B.A. in Criminal Justice.)

Unlike Josh, it has taken me a lot longer to figure out what I would like to do and to get that just out of reach College Degree. I took the semester off from BSU, but am already registered for classes and going back in January. I have changed my degree to Accountancy/Finance. (Is BSU the only university that calls it accountancy, or is that normal?) I'm excited to be double majoring, since for the last 4 years, I never had even a minor, and my major has changed regularly. As long as I enjoy my classes I think I have finally found the perfect degree/career for me.

I currently have 2 jobs of sorts. I  nanny for twins. They are 2 1/2 and every day is an adventure with them. I have been watching them since Oct 2008. Currently, I will stop doing this in December so I can get more regular hours at my other job as well as to get through school as quickly as possible. My other job is at Primary Health Medical Group. I am a customer service representative (CSR). Which basically just means that I check in patients, collect co-pays, and answer their questions. It was a rough couple months when I started, but I think I am finally getting the hang of it and am enjoying it, somewhat. I can at least see myself staying for quite a while.

That is our lives summed up, I guess. I know there is lot more, but those are the regularities of our life.

Today I have started my diet. I am going to try the slim-fast plan. The shake I had this morning for breakfast was delicious! I was very surprised and glad that there is at least one good thing about the plan I can stick to. I hope to lose 20 pounds by January, which is when I need to fit back into my wedding dress for our sealing in the temple. (Yay!) I hope to keep it off for as long as possible, and not let myself gain so much weight again!!

Well, that is a good start I think and will keep everyone updated as often as I can!
